All of this is made possible by a unique system of channels and dikes built in the nineteen fifties to protect the waterfront property.

Bayard, just west of Jacksonville, FL, was named after George Edward Bayard, a land owner and surveyor who developed the area in which the neighborhood is located. The other three are located in Orlando.
